- Los Blancos have been reportedly observing a possibility of landing the 23-year-old attacker
- ESPN’s & Football Whispers’ James Piercy believes the links could hardly be real despite the reputable source in Sky Sports
James Piercy of Football Whispers wrote on the possible transfer: “The European champions have reportedly renewed their interest in Manchester City forward Sterling although no bid is expected before the deadline closes.
“Sterling, 23, only has two years remaining on his deal at the Etihad and Madrid are said to be monitoring the situation and his form ahead of a possible approach next summer.
“According to Sky Sports, Madrid scouts will be at Wembley on Sept. 8 to watch England take on Spain with Sterling expected to start.”
ESPN FC’s probability rating: 2.2/5 (1.0 – unlikely, 3.0 – good chance, 5.0 – done deal).
Indeed, Sky Sports claimed on Tuesday that Real Madrid were interested in signing Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling. However, they do not intend to bring the Englishman in during the current transfer window. It has been reported that the Royal club will send their representatives to England’s match against Spain on September 8 to watch the Lions’ winger.
Sterling has started in two of the first three EPL matches this season against Arsenal and Wolverhampton. The player’s contract with the Citizens expires in two years and he is yet to sign the new deal with the Premier League champions.
